2020 Recruiting during COVID-19 Survey Results

2020 recruiting during covid

We surveyed thousands of talent acquisition teams to understand how they recruit and how COVID-19 has impacted recruitment efforts. As you can imagine, the pandemic has caused most businesses to dramatically change their trajectory.

Overall, only 14.5% of businesses reported that COVID-19 has not affected recruiting, with 9% reporting new growth due to new demand, and the rest implementing hiring freezes, furloughs, and layoffs.

Only 5% of businesses over 10,000 employees reported no impact on recruiting, while 20% of businesses 1,000 – 5,000 employees reported no impact, and 14% of businesses < 1,000 employees said it hasn’t affected recruiting.

35% of respondents with more than 10,000 employees reported hiring freezes, followed by 24% for 1,000 – 5,000 employees, and 26% for < 1,000.

The group with the largest amount of layoffs was 1,000 – 5,000 employees sized companies (6%), followed by  < 1,000 employees (5%), and no layoffs being reported in responders with over 10,000 employees (0%)
